Privacy Policy
PROFILECHECK helps you improve your dating profile by analyzing screenshots or photos you choose to upload. Because those images can be personal, this policy explains in plain language what we process, why, for how long, and what stays entirely on your device. The short version: we look at your images only to produce the analysis you asked for, we do not keep them, we never rate your attractiveness, and we do not use tracking or advertising SDKs.

We are the data controller for the processing described here. We have not appointed a data protection officer. We have not yet appointed a representative in the EU or the UK; requests from EU and UK residents are handled directly by us at the e-mail address above.
2. No account, no login
PROFILECHECK does not require an account. We do not collect your name, e-mail address, phone number, date of birth or location. When you contact us by e-mail, we process what you send us only to answer you.
3. Your photos and screenshots (the Profile Check)
What we process
Only the 2–8 images you explicitly select with Apple's photo picker (or take with the camera inside the app). We never receive access to your photo library. Screenshots of a dating profile may contain your photos, your name, your bio and your prompt answers.
Why and on what legal basis
To produce the Profile Check you requested. Before your first analysis the app asks for your explicit consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a) and, because dating-profile images may reveal information about your private life, Art. 9(2)(a)). You can withdraw consent at any time in Settings → Privacy; the app will then ask again before the next check. Withdrawal does not affect processing that already took place.
What happens to the images
- They are resized and compressed on your device before upload.
- They are transmitted over TLS to our server, which processes them in memory only. They are not written to disk, not stored in a database and not written to log files.
- Our server forwards them to our AI provider, Anthropic, PBC (USA), which analyzes them and returns a text result. Anthropic processes the images on our behalf under its commercial API terms, which do not permit training on our data. Under those terms Anthropic may retain API inputs and outputs for a limited period (currently up to 30 days) solely to detect abuse, after which they are deleted.
- As soon as the result is returned, the images are discarded from server memory. We keep no copy.
The result
The analysis text (scores, feedback, suggested rewrites of your bio and prompts) is sent back to your device and saved only on your device, together with small thumbnails of the images you selected, so you can revisit it under History. We do not store the analysis text on our servers. You can delete individual checks or all of them under Settings → Delete Local History; deleting the app removes them too.
What the analysis does not do
The AI is instructed not to rate physical attractiveness and not to infer ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, health or disability, income or political views. It gives feedback on how clearly your profile communicates and how easy it is to start a conversation with you.
4. Usage data (first-party telemetry)
To understand which parts of the app work and to fix problems, the app sends small, pseudonymous usage events to our own server. We do not use Google Analytics, Firebase, Meta, AppsFlyer, Adjust or any other third-party analytics or advertising SDK.
What an event contains

The app cannot send free text, photos, filenames, bio or prompt text, the AI's feedback, your e-mail, phone number, contacts, precise location or your IP address as part of an event, and our server rejects anything outside this list. Our server does not store the IP address of telemetry requests.
Legal basis and retention
Legitimate interest in measuring and improving our product and detecting errors (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). Because the data is pseudonymous and contains no profile content, we consider the impact on you minimal. Events are retained for 24 months and then deleted. You can object at any time (see section 9).
5. Operational metrics of the analysis service
For each analysis our server records the installation ID (if the app supplied it), the AI provider and model used, start and end time, duration, success or error category, the number of tokens the AI processed and an estimated cost. This is used for reliability and cost control. It contains no images and no text. Retained for 24 months.
6. Internal growth analytics
The pseudonymous usage events and operational metrics described in sections 4 and 5 may be transferred to our internal growth-analytics system to measure which marketing campaigns lead to genuinely useful outcomes (for example completed analyses or rechecks) and what an analysis costs us. That system never receives your images, your profile text, the AI's feedback or your exact score, only the bucketed, pseudonymous fields listed above. It is operated by us, not by a third party.
7. Purchases
Profile Check credits are sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple processes the payment and your Apple ID; we never see your payment details. Your credit balance is stored on your device. Refunds are handled by Apple under its terms. Apple's privacy policy applies to the purchase itself.

We do not sell personal data and do not share it with advertisers.
9. Your rights
Under the GDPR (EU/EEA and UK) you have the right to access, rectify and erase your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability and to withdraw consent. Under Canada's PIPEDA you have comparable rights of access and correction. To exercise them, e-mail info@idealink.us.
Please note what we can and cannot do:
- Images: we hold none, so there is nothing to access or delete on our side.
- Analysis results and thumbnails: stored only on your device; delete them in the app.
- Usage events: pseudonymous. We cannot identify which events belong to you from your name or e-mail (GDPR Art. 11). If you want them deleted, tell us the approximate date and time of your checks and the dating app you selected, and we will do our best to locate and delete them.
- Consent: withdraw it in Settings → Privacy.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, for example the authority of your EU member state or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
10. Children
PROFILECHECK is intended for adults who use dating apps. It is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly process data of minors.
11. Security
All connections use TLS. Uploaded images exist only transiently in server memory. Telemetry is stored in a database that is not publicly reachable and is read only by us through authenticated, read-only access. On your device, the credit balance and the installation ID are kept in the iOS Keychain.
12. Changes
If we change how we process personal data, we will update this page and the effective date, and where required ask for your consent again in the app.
